(01) About the project
The brief
The owners wanted a house that would stay cool in August and bright in January. They asked for fewer rooms, not more, and a kitchen large enough to cook for twelve.
Our approach
We cut the plan into the slope so the main floor opens straight onto the garden. Thick limestone walls carry the roof and store the warmth of the day. Inside, oak floors and lime plaster keep the palette short and warm.
Every opening is framed on a single view: the river, a fig tree, the neighbour’s roofline. Nothing is there by accident.
